CENTURIES from Oliver Price and Azeem Ghumman helped in-form Chippenham record their fourth WEPL Premier One win on the bounce last weekend.
The Wiltshire side beat Clevedon CC by 44 runs to move up to fourth and put pressure on county rivals Potterne.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat, opener Price struck 136 off 129 balls before eventually being bowled by Cameron Harding. Number three batter, Ghumman notched 127 from 103 deliveries to remain not out as Chippenham set 336-4 from their 50 overs.
Clevedon's Harding contributed 77 with the bat while Jared Warner edged past 100 before Adam Sullivan removed him via a catch from Price.
Sullivan pegged the visitors back further with three more wickets, and Clevedon were left stranded at 292-7 at the end of their innings.
Meanwhile, Potterne made hard work of bottom-of-the-table Lansdown in their three-wicket victory.
Having reduced Lansdown to 226 all out, only Wesley Coulentianos (61) passed 50 in Potterne's top five.
Graham Wiseman chipped in with a helpful 63 as his teammates continued to achieve starts but fail to kick on. Ultimately, Potterne squeezed home by three wickets to take 21 points from the day and remain second.
In WEPL Premier Two Gloucestershire-Wiltshire, Corsham won a thriller against Cheltenham by just two runs.
After setting an even 250 to win, thanks to a 74 by Thomas Hankins, Cheltenham's Nick Evans was frustrating the Wiltshire team on his way to 55.
However, with just two needed for victory, Hankins produced a stunning grab at slip from David Williams to take Evans' wicket and clinch victory for Corsham.
Elsewhere, four Goatacre players reached 50 in the club's 113-run success at home to Marshfield while Adam Forbes took 5-40 with the ball and Brad Parry struck 136 off 98 balls with the bat as Warminster beat Burbage & Easton Royal by six wickets.
In WEPL Wiltshire, there were wins for Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett, Hinton Charterhouse, and Biddestone.
Bassett's lead over Swindon at the top of the division is now 48 points with each team - except Trowbridge and Corsham seconds - having played 10 matches.
