POTTERNE shifted their WEPL Premier One title hopes back on track following a comfortable victory in their Wiltshire derby with Chippenham last weekend.
Early rain disrupted the all-Wiltshire affair, and Chippenham were given just 40 overs to set Potterne a competitive target - the visitors ended on 171-9 as the wickets were shared between the home attack.
The 2019 WEPL champions lost just one wicket in their reply as Basil Akram smashed 75 off 36 balls, the overwhelming majority of which came in boundaries.
Akram struck 10 fours and five sixes before being caught nine runs from the twice-revised target of 113.
Jake Goodwin played a good supporting role with 25 from 30 balls as Potterne chased Chippenham's score down in 11 overs.
Potterne are now third on 124 points - 10 behind league leaders Bath.
Elsewhere, in WEPL Premier Two, both Wiltshire outfits to complete fixtures ended up on the losing side.
Frocester beat Goatacre by seven wickets while Stroud beat Warminster by six wickets.
Goatacre blasted 306 off 41 overs - thanks in the main to a superb 118 off 67 balls by opener Jack Haines.
Haines hit 12 sixes and seven fours before being bowled by Frocester's Will Naish.
After picking up three wickets with the ball, Naish scored the match-winning knock with the bat - 93 not out - as Frocester reached the revised target of 205 in the 28th over.
Meanwhile, Warminster were bowled out for 226 in 43 overs despite a 50 from wicketkeeper George Edwards and a classy 106 by Gareth Schreuder.
John Powell had Stroud 37-3 as the hosts chased a Duckworth-Lewis-Stern-altered score of 150, but 30 off 22 by Louis Gegg and a magnificent 78 off 35 from Amogh Bhatkal saw Stroud home.
In WEPL Wiltshire, Trowbridge hammered Devizes by 163 runs, Biddestone beat Corsham by six wickets, and Swindon lost to Hinton Charterhouse by two runs after the north-Wiltshire side narrowly failed to reach the revised target of 148 from 28 overs.
