LAST week was a good week for the club on the pitch with some positive results.

We had a long trip up to Yorkshire but we played some good cricket and picked up 10 points, which is a decent return for a draw.

Then on Sunday we also had a big win up in Scotland in the CB40.

The feeling after the Yorkshire game was a lot different to after the draw with Derbyshire because we got a big score of 427 up in our first innings, which is always good to see.

On a personal note, I was disappointed not to get any real runs but I did manage to take three wickets so it’s good that one part of my game was there.

On Sunday, Scotland did have us in a bit of trouble at one point where we were at about 100-4 but Michael Carberry saw things out pretty comfortably with his batting – he’s a fine player and us young lads learn a lot from him.

Things are really coming thick and fast now and we’ve got another busy weekend ahead.

The County Championship match which started against Glamorgan yesterday is an important one for us because they’ve struggled so far this season and they’re bottom of the table.

We need to make sure that we’ve put them under as much pressure as we can early on.

There is a lot of pressure on us too though because we’re a big club in this division and we’re expected to go back up.

But all we want to do is stay in the mix for now.
