IT’S BEEN a really good week for me – getting in England’s ODI squad was great and at Hampshire, we got an absolutely massive win over Nottinghamshire.
I won’t be able to play in the next two or three games for Hampshire and that’s a shame because it’s a really important time of the year but I’ve got international cricket to look forward to and that’s something special.
I think that having James Vince back will be a big boost for us and I’ll be keeping track of everything on my phone to see how the guys are doing – hopefully they can get the results that we need.
We’ve given ourselves a big chance of staying up now by beating Notts. We’re off the bottom of the table and we’re one win away from a couple of the teams above us.
The Notts game was a big one but four days is a long time and you don’t feel the pressure mentally for that amount of time.
We played some exceptional cricket at Trent Bridge and taking 20 wickets was extremely pleasing, especially on such a flat wicket.
Our next game is against Somerset next Tuesday and that’s another huge one for the club.
We can go there confident because of what we managed to do at Trent Bridge this week and hopefully we can produce the same kind of cricket.
Avoiding relegation is all that matters now and I think that we can do it.
Somerset were right down there a few weeks ago – things can change quickly.
