SWINDON-BORN swimmer Hannah Miley qualified 10th-fastest for the semi-finals of the 200m individual medley at London Aquatics Centre this morning.
Miley finished fourth in a strong heat that was won by newly-crowned 400m IM Olympic champion Shiwen Ye of China in 2:08.90.
Miley clocked 2:12.27 to come in just behind Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry in 2:10.51 and Australia’s Steph Rice in 2:12.23.
Lying in fifth early on, Miley moved into fourth on the breastroke leg and held that position in the final 50m.
The Brit, who finished fifth in the final of the 400m IM on Saturday, said: “I’m really pleased to have got through to the semis. I’m so much more relaxed and happy than I was in the 400m medley.
“I’m just going to go out there and enjoy it. In the Olympics nothing ever goes according to plan and anything can happen.”
The semi-finals take place tonight.
