SWINDON-BORN Hannah Miley cruised into the final of the 400m individual medley this morning after finishing sixth-fastest in heats.
The Garioch flyer won her own heat at London Aquatics Centre in 4:34.98 with Olympic champion Steph Rice second and Caitlin Leverenz third.
That means Miley will contest the final at 8.09pm tonight and she is widely tipped to grab a medal, although she will have to see off current world champion Elizabeth Beisel if she is to win gold.
"The last 100m felt harder than the rest but morning swims tends to be that way," said Miley.
"I was really happy with my heat, it was my fastest swim in a heat, so that's great. I have got to see what I can do now for the final.
"Before a race, my dad (coach Patrick Miley) gives me a hug and says 'I love you'. It's great to be swimming not just for myself, but for my family, and him and his hard work."
