ADIE Mings has added to his Hardenhuish Park squad after landing Cirencester Town goalkeeper Kevin Sawyer and registering former Bluebirds midfielder Luke Gullick on a short-term arrangement.
Sawyer, 31, was released by Blue Square North side Gloucester City earlier this season having made more than 100 appearances for the Tigers and had been featuring for Ciren in the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division.
He steps in to the Bluebirds squad after on-loan Salisbury City stopper Tommy Smith played in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Bedford Town, following the departure of Will Puddy to Salisbury.
Smith will remain at Hardenhuish Park for the duration of his one-month loan.
Mings said: "Kevin signed last night. He was number one on our list once Pudds (Will Puddy) left and he'll do a very good job for us.
"Hopefully we've got him for the rest of this year and next year too and it gives us a bit of stability.
"Tommy is also with us for a month so we'll have competition for places, which is what we want.''
Gullick, who left the club last summer after earning a six-month contract with pro club San Juan Jabloteh in Trinidad, has been training with Blue Square Premier outfit Newport County while waiting for his international clearance.
He spent four seasons at Hardenhuish Park, before his trip to the Caribbean and arrives on a short-term basis as he is pursuing a deal with the Welsh outfit.
Gullick originally joined the Bluebirds in July 2007 from Swindon Supermarine and also played locally for Calne Town and Biddestone.
Mings added: "He's still training with Newport but he's coming to help us out for a period of time. It will be good to have someone with his ability available to us.''
The Bluebirds boss also revealed that he is still pursuing more recruits as Town attempt to cement their standing as promotion contenders from the Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division.
A striker and another midfielder remain top of his priority list, Mings adding: "I'll be speaking to a couple of others and hopefully we'll do a little bit more next week.
"We want to get people in who will make the squad a bit stronger.''
Meanwhile, Bluebirds defender Mani Randhawa has been nominated for the Up and Coming Player of the Year award at Tuesday's Asian Football Awards to be held at Wembley Stadium.
