STRUGGLING Calne suffered their tenth defeat of the season on Saturday, as they were beaten by 61 runs at Nationwide House.
Dan Knight’s side won the toss and chose to bowl first, with Chris Downham taking three wickets.
Skipper Knight, Courtney Earl and Stuart Whitty all claimed wickets but Nationwide’s Kev Flay led the way for his side as he hit 67.
Fellow opener Nick Clarke hit 58 for the hosts while Sam Morshead added 35, as Nationwide finished on 247-7.
Whitty top-scored for Calne with an unbeaten 36 from 34 balls late on, after Knight made 30 and James Gladding hit 26.
However, Nationwide’s bowling attack stifled the run-chase with Mark Morris and Andy Lewis taking four for 34 and three for 38 respectively.
Calne currently sit second-bottom in the Wiltshire Division table, narrowly above bottom-side Purton.
Knight’s men host league-leaders Lechlade this weekend, who thrashed them by eight wickets last month.
