RYAN Higgins was in match-wining form as Potterne claimed a 44-run win over high-flying Gloucester City Winget.
The hosts won the toss and put Graham Gaiger’s side in to bat first but the Zimbabwean led the run chase as he hit an unbeaten 88.
Matt Jennings took three wickets but opener Ollie Smith made 70 while James Page and Omar Mannan both hit 21, as Potterne posted 265-5.
Will Steadman hit back for Gloucester with 54 while opener Jon Tegg made 51.
Richard Howell added 28 but Higgins proved just as influential with the ball as he took five wickets for 60 runs.
Rikkie Jackson claimed three wickets while Smith took a further two late on, skittling second-placed Gloucester for 221.
Potterne’s sixth win of the season sees them avenge a 36-run defeat in May and Gaiger’s men currently occupy fifth place in the table.
Potterne welcome second-bottom Hatherley & Reddings to Coxhill Lane this weekend.
