ADIE Mings was pleased to see members of his Chippenham Town squad back on the pitch as the Bluebirds warmed up with a 5-0 friendly win over Calne Town on Tuesday night.
Mings fielded a mixed line-up, including triallists and youth players, as Chippenham won the ceremonial Fred Rutty Cup.
Young midfielder George Nash, who spent last season with Corsham Town, is one player who will be making a permanent step-up to the Bluebirds’ first-team.
“We’ve been monitoring George for a while and he’ll be signing for us,” said the Chippenham manager.
“He’s got a full pre-season under his belt now and he’s got to know the lads so hopefully he can be a good player for us.
“(Tuesday) was a good runout – it was good to get a look at some of the triallists and it was good to get 50 or 60 minutes into some of the first-team lads.”
