BIDDESTONE took top spot in the Glos/Wilts Division with a five-wicket win over Potterne on Saturday.
Skipper Dwaine Perry hit 90 from 91 balls as his side leapfrogged Gloucester City Winget, who lost at Hatherley & Reddings.
Biddestone won the toss and chose to bowl, with Nick Cape and Chris Baker taking two wickets each.
Ryan Higgins top-scored for Potterne with 64 while Neil Clark made 43, as the hosts finished on 251-7.
Perry then led by example for his side, with opener Martin Sawyer adding 56 from 31 deliveries.
Potterne’s Dylan and Ryan Higgins took three and two wickets respectively but the visitors reached 257-5 with just over 10 overs to spare.
Home skipper Graham Gaiger was disappointed with his side’s bowling.
“It was a real game of two halves because we batted really well but our bowling wasn’t very good,” he said.
“Their skipper batted really well and they’re a good side. but I was disappointed with the way we lost the game after starting it so well.”
Biddestone host local rivals Marshfield this weekend while Potterne travel to Gloucester.
