WOOTTON Bassett remain bottom of the Glos/Wilts Division after they were swept aside by local rivals Swindon.

Mark Vincent’s side took to the crease first, with opener Jaggy Chahal hitting 39.

Anis Ali was closest behind with just 14 as the Swindon attack tore through the Bassett order.

Asanka Vithanage took 5-30, Michael Wilson claimed 5-45, as the visitors were skittled in the 39th over.

Bassett’s efforts proved just as futile with the ball, as they failed to take a single wicket.

Marc Williamson led the way with 78 from 95 balls while the conservative Paul Paginton made 39 from 127 deliveries, easing the home side to victory in 36 overs and condemning Vincent’s men to their eighth loss of the season.

Bassett will be looking to bounce back this weekend when they host Hatherley & Reddings, the only team they have beaten so far this year.
