TITLE-CHASERS Biddestone kept the heat on Glos/Wilts Division leaders Gloucester City Winget with a 29-run victory over Hatherley & Reddings on Saturday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Biddestone’s Nick Cape hit 73 from 80 balls.
Skipper Dwaine Perry added 64 and Martin Sawyer made 35 but the Hatherley bowlers had Biddestone skittled in the 50th over.
Raymond Otter claimed four wickets while Andre Soma took three, as Perry’s men were all out for 273.
The visitors’ Tom Lucas top-scored for his side with 67 but Soma and Craig Baker were closest behind with just 28.
Naeem Khan took four wickets while Cape ended the day with two and one run-out, as Hatherley lost their final wicket in the 49th over.
Second-placed Biddestone face a trip to fifth-placed Potterne this weekend and will be looking to do the double over Graham Gaiger’s side, after edging to a narrow five-run victory at Yatton Road in May.
