MARSHFIELD remain in the Glos/Wilts Division relegation zone after a 105-run loss to Rockhampton on Saturday.
The hosts won the toss and chose to bat first, with Matthew Belbin hitting 61 from 52 balls.
William Tyler made 59 and Jack Spence made 59 and 30 respectively and, despite Ben Gardner taking four wickets and Russell Lodge two, Rockhampton finished on 258-8.
Marshfield struggled to chase down their target as Lodge top-scored with just 24. Rupert Crockett made 22 and Patrick Grieshaber added 18 but the hosts’ Charlie Turell claimed four wickets and James Hancox three, with James Williams’ side finishing on 153-8.
Marshfield will be looking to bounce back against rivals Trowbridge this weekend.
