SUE Cooke from the Box club bids this Saturday to reach her third Wiltshire National Championship final at North Wilts later this month.
She will be competing in the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the ladies top competition, four wood singles, at Bradford-on-Avon.
Cooke is already through to the county fours and triples finals as well as qualifying to represent Wiltshire in these two events in the National Championships at Royal Leamington Spa at the beginning of August.
Surprisingly only one of the players in the last eight of the singles has ever reached the county final before and represented Wiltshire at Leamington in this event.
That is Michele Williams from the Avon Club (formerly Cooper Avon Tyres) who won the title in 2005.
From an initial entry of 79 players this year only eight now remain and all of them are from different clubs around the county.
DRAW: Janet Daniell (Wootton Bassett) v Sue Cooke (Box); Jean Renicks (Swindon North End) v Delia Godwin (Chippenham Town); Rosemary Nichols (Westlecot) v Michele Williams (Avon); Sandra Bartlett (Winsley) v Maureen Woolley (Alderbury).
