Maud Heath Sports and AFC Calne battled to a 3 - 3 draw at a pre-season friendly at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday.

With both teams fielding new look sides it was always going to be a close encounter and so it proved.

Sports' new Team Manager & Secretary Dave Beal & Mark Richardson were probably the happier of the two management teams having seen their side come from behind twice before taking a 3-2 lead, only for that lead to be cancelled by an unfortunate own goal late into the game.

With one or two players not available, Beal experimented with defensive systems to counter AFC's lively offense and Maud Heath look a rounded, if young, side and certainly pack an attacking punch likely to trouble other Premier sides this season.

Beal didn't feel it was appropriate to highlight any player for special mention but was "pleased that the whole side seemed to gel during their first game together this term. Eadsy (Chris Edes, captain) and the lads worked hard for this result against an ambitious AFC Calne side and only one or two tweaks are needed to complete the team.
