RUGBY neighbours Devizes and Wiltshire Police play their traditional curtain raiser to the new season, the Andy Quinn Memorial game, at Devizes' Chivers Ground on Thursday (August 27) at 6.30pm.
The annual event is held in memory of police officer Quinn, a former player of both clubs, who died of cancer more than a decade ago.
This year's match has increased community involvement courtesy of sponsorship from Devizes company Inspired2learn, who supply leadership and management training to companies and organisations across the country, including Wiltshire Police.
Keen rugby fan Barry Smale, who runs the company, has supplied 25 new training tops for the police team and will present them on Thursday.
