Biddestone 3rds travelled to United Churches and claimed a 1 wicket victory in a nail-biting finish.
United Churches batted first and compiled 201-8 from their 45 overs, Ken Thomas and R Martin both scoring 47 as Biddestone's four bowlers took 2 wickets apiece. Biddestone's reply was in trouble early on as they were reduced to 75-6.
However, Andy Flynn continued to score runs at one end and eventually found some support from his skipper Kevin Mitchell as they put on 80 for the 7th wicket, with Flynn dominating the scoring.
However, Flynn was eventually dismissed for a superb 109 and when Mitchell and then Henry Entwhistle followed the score was left on 165-9 with numbers 10 and 11 at the crease and 35 runs required from 7 overs. However, Andy Marsh (27) and Craig Pepper (9) proved up to the task, with Pepper striking 6 runs from four balls in the last over to claim a dramatic victory.
