Robson Taylor, Chippenham Sunday League, player Dave Crawford is hoping to raise money for a local charity when he steps out at Devizes Town’s Nursteed Road this coming Friday night.

The match that kicks off at 7.30pm kick off will bring together a number of Crawford’s former team-mates who he has played along side over the 18 years that he has played on the Sunday league.

Crawford who has enjoyed my time in Sunday morning football since he started with Corsham Centre as a 16 year old before moving onto Corsham Park Rangers where we won the Parr Trophy in 1994. Soon after he moved back to Corsham Centre who later became the Duke and then Percys where he eventually won the Premier division in 2003.

Five years ago he moved to the Bar OC/British Lion in Devizes where he has enjoyed his football greatly and was part of the division two side of 2006/07 who won all 24 of their games.

He officially retired at the end of the last season, however he will probably sign on but will want to be used only as extreme cover.

Crawford is holding the game to raise funds in aid of the Bath Cancer Research fund for the Forever Friends appeal and he hopes to raise over £500. Players are each making a donation and anyone is welcome to make a donation on the night or at the website he have created www.justgiving.com/dcrawford Bath RUH took care of Crawford back in 2003 when he was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer and he underwent Radiotherapy treatment so this is my way of saying thank you.

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the match, anyone interested in making a cameo appearance can contact Dave Crawford on 07891 949663.
