WE got off to an excellent start against Didcot on Tuesday night, as we did against Nuneaton on Saturday, and I thought the boys did well.

I was pleased with the way we passed it on Tuesday more than anything. On Saturday, in the first half, we didn’t pass it as well as I would have liked but right from the off we got it down and looked quite a good side.

That is partly due to the work we’ve been doing in training but we’ve got some very good footballers and the way we set up allowed us to be a little bit more adventurous.

We could get Scott Lye into more advanced positions and use his link-up play which is very important to the team.

I thought the front two worked together well as a pairing in both games and they each got their goals against Didcot so I’m just pleased with the way it worked out again.

I was equally as pleased on Tuesday night as I had been on Saturday because we showed terrific attitude again. You’re never going to dominate a game for 90 minutes but again we went about the job in the right way.

This time last year we won the first game of the season and then went to Evesham and lost, so to go to Didcot and against a newly promoted side and play the way we did was pleasing.

We travel to Rugby Town on Saturday, who came a little bit unstuck at the weekend, but we won’t take anything for granted.

We know how difficult it’s going to be to go there and get a result. It’s always a tough place to go but we are going there with a little bit of confidence and belief now.

We’re still awaiting international clearance for Jan Klukowski so unless anything drops on the mat he’s unlikely to play.

I’m also pleased for the supporters who came along to Didcot and on Saturday, when they created such a good atmosphere in what was a really enjoyable game.
