In this competitive Elite League encounter, the meeting momentum swung throughout.

Swindon's opening heat 5-1 race advantage was immediately overturned by Peterborough who then went on to nurture a four point lead from heats three to six.

Swindon held the ascendancy in the middle stages after registering consecutive 5-1 advantages in races seven and eight.

The scores were levelled in heat ten before a tense final sector of the meeting ensued.

Peterborough race advantages in heats eleven and twelve were countered by a Swindon 5-1 in race thirteen. A crucial Panthers' 4-2 in the penulimate outing shuffled their lead to four points.

That set up a tense final race decider in which Leigh Adams eased to victory. However, the Peterborough duo of Kenneth Bjerre and Niels Kristian Iversen packed the minor placings to ensure the Panthers collected the overall meeting win.

Proceedings got underway in fine fashion as the Robins' duo of Leigh Adams and Travis McGowan romped to a 5-1 heat advantage.

The Swindon pairing conjured fantastic starts to lead the pack and with Leigh Adams fronting the charge, Travis McGowan rode solidly to fend off a persistent challenge from a hard charging Niels Kristian Iversen.

Peterborough struck back immediately with a 5-1 of their own in the ensuing heat. Ales Dryml was the first to hit the apex and was joined on the back straight by Henning Bager who executed a terrific bend two cut back to roar underneath Mark Lemon and Paul Hurry..

A heat three points share followed as Kenneth Bjerre eased to victory with the Robins' pairing of Simon Stead and Jurica Pavlic filling the minor placings.

Peterborough moved into a four point lead with a 5-1 advantage from Troy Batchelor and Henning Bager in a fast paced heat four. Mark Lemon applied early pressure to Henning Bager but was unable to find a route past the Danish rider.

A masterclass from Leigh Adams dominated heat five as the Robins' Captain recovered from a slow start to firstly charge underneath Kenneth Hansen and then emphatically pass Kenneth Bjerre on turn four.

The Australian displayed outstanding speed throughout as he flirted with the quickly developing dirt line. The resultant points share maintained Peterborough's four point advantage.

Matej Zagar recovered from his pointless opening ride to register a comfortable tapes to flag victory in race six.

Simon Stead and Jurica Pavlic rode well to notch a heat seven 5-1 to level the progressive totals. The Robins' duo roared away from the start and rode clever racing lines to phase out the Peterborough charge.

A second successive Swindon 5-1 quickly followed as the Australian duo of Travis McGowan and Mark Lemon combined strongly to launch Swindon into a four point lead.

McGowan romped to a well deserved victory whilst Mark Lemon adopted some shrewd lines to halt a spirited charge from Hening Bager.

A typically flamboyant ride from Matej Zagar secured a heat nine points share. The Slovenian was emphatic out front and his race time smashed the pacy East Of England track record by 0.4 seconds.

Peterborough struck back with a heat ten 5-1 from Niels Kristian Iversen and Kenneth Hansen to level the overall scores. T he Panthers' pairing both passed Simon Stead on the opening lap and the Swindon rider was unable to launch a fightback.

A crackerjack heat eleven ensued as Peterborough notched a 4-2 through a Troy Batchelor race win and a third spot from Ales Dryml.

The Panthers' duo hit the front on the back straight of the opening lap as Leigh Adams chased hard from third spot. The Swindon Captain showed great tenacity to forge a route around the outside of Ales Dryml in the closing stages.

The meeting took another twist in heat twelve as Peterborough moved further ahead with a hard fought 5-1 race advantage. Mark Lemon made a good start and held the lead exiting turn two before Henning Bager shuffled the Aussie aside to take the lead.

The move allowed Kenneth Hansen to nip underneath and register a second placed finish.

The power-packed Swindon duo of Matej Zagar and Leigh Adams collected a well worked heat thirteen 5-1 to narrow Peterborough's advantage to two poiints.

A heat fourteen Peterborough 4-2 from for Kenneth Bjerre and Ales Dryml moved the home side into a four point lead. Simon Stead held the ascendancy in early stages but a lap two, turn one inside dive from Bjerre saw the diminutive Danish rider take the lead.

A final race points share concluded the meeting with Leigh Adams romping to a super fast victory. Further back, Matej Zagar was unable to find a route past Niels Krisitan Iversen and Kenneth Bjerre who repelled the Slovenian’s challenge throughout.

The eventual 47-43 result in Peterborough's favour meant both sides gained Elite League points from the encounter.
