Two former Swindon players appeared in games against Wiltshire teams over the weekend, but how did the sides get on?

National League South – Chippenham and Salisbury

Chippenham Town’s play-off hopes drifted further away as they were defeated 3-1 by fourth place Farnborough.

The Bluebirds got on the scoresheet first in the 47th minute as winger Leone Gravata fired in a cross and found Caine Bradbury, who took a touch and found the top left corner.

It only took five minutes for the hosts to equaliser however, as a powerful cross from Matty MacArthur reached the head of Joe Heigh, who glanced his effort past Will Henry.

Despite a penalty save from Henry, Farnborough turned the game around 15 minutes later as MacArthur rounded the goalkeeper and poked the ball into an empty net.

Aaron Kuhl got the third of the afternoon in the 89th minute as he blasted the ball into the back of the net from the spot.

Salisbury marked a shock 5-0 win over Hemel Hempstead, a team who are two points ahead of them in the league.

It took until the 71st minute for the deadlock to be broken and Jordan Ragguette slipped the ball past the goalkeeper to get a much deserved lead.

Three minutes later, it was Ragguette again as he tapped home at the back post.

The third was scored by Craig Fasanmade as he diverted Ronan Silva’s shot goalwards.

Substitute Jaden Perez somehow got on the scoresheet for 4 with eight minutes to go as his free kick avoided all the players in the box and went straight into the back of the net.

The fifth was from Perez again as he slotted the ball home from 20 yards to round off a five-star victory.

Southern Premier Division South – Swindon Supermarine

Swindon Supermarine were narrowly defeated 2-1 by AFC Totton on the weekend as Charlie Austin was in action in Hampshire.

It was Austin who opened the scoring as he tapped in a rebound after Dan Brabham parried away a shot from Joe Oastler.

The second for Totton didn’t take long as Austin played through Tom Blair who drove his effort into the bottom left corner.

Despite being 2-0 down within 14 minutes, the Marine heads didn’t drop.

Michael Fernandes’ drilled a ball into the box and found Dave Sims-Burgess who smashed a shot into the top left corner to get Swindon back into the game, but it wasn’t enough.

Southern Football League Division One South – Melksham and Westbury

Melksham edged out an impressive 1-0 victory against Helston Athletic which puts the Wiltshire side into 6th place.

Josh Bennett scored an impressive effort from 30 yards out as his volley was the only goal in the game.

It was a disappointing result for Westbury as they lost 2-0 to relegation rivals Shaftesbury, but former Swindon player Brett Pitman was on the winning side.

Toby Bailey cleanly opened the scoring as his shot was too much for Robins’ goalkeeper Redman Evans.

Remus Nixon got the second in added time as he broke clear and blasted past Evans to secure an important result.

Hellenic League Premier Division – Highworth Town, Corsham and Royal Wootton Bassett

Highworth’s trip to Worcester was worth the journey as they beat the Worcester Raiders 1-0.

Liam Haines’ goal was the difference in the tie as he bundled the ball over the line after the two shots prior both smashed against the crossbar.

A late winner got Corsham all three points as they came out on top in a five-goal thriller against Hereford Pegasus.

Otis Lewis put Corsham ahead as he bended an effort over the keeper to give the hosts a deserved lead.

It was two on the 41st minute mark as a Hereford defender turned a cross into his own net.

Jordan Williamson got a goal back for Pegasus after the break as his penalty was fired into the top corner to give them a lifeline.

It was another penalty and Williamson scored again to peg the tie back level with 10 minutes remaining.

Despite the visitor's constant pressure, Corsham found the winner as Joe Davis burst through on goal and powerfully hit his shot past the keeper for a strong result.

Royal Wootton Bassett put four past Tuffley Rovers in an impressive victory to keep them in play-off contention.

The opener came from a free kick after Tawana Changa saw a second yellow, as Brad Pagliaroli picked the ball up, dodged two challenges and fired low beyond the goalkeeper.

In-form Alfie Presley got the second of the game and the third completed Presley’s brace as he powered home a rebound.

Chris Zebroski’s low finish in the 65 minute made it 4-0 and secured a strong victory for Bassett.
