Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway has expressed his feeling to leave his mark on the current group of players in the squad.

The Bristol-born manager has been in charge for 25 days and has registered two wins, one draw and one defeat in his reign so far.

Despite it being over a month since the Robins last won in the league, Ollie wants to have a strong effect on the players at his disposal.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I’m not sure they’re sure on me at the moment because I’m in their face on everything and I need to make them better people first.

“I’m getting to know them, they’re getting to know me, that’s what it’s about.

“You don’t get long in this life and if you look at Swindon’s recent history, they showed me how many managers they’ve had in the last six years, and I was like ‘Oh, goodness me!'

“But really, I want to leave a mark on them and if I can do that by helping them have some sort of pattern.

“I want to see them be brave, I want to see them chase, I want to see them work and I want to see them enjoy themselves.”

A clear message that Holloway has been trying to get across to his players is to believe in themselves and he wants them to be the best versions of themselves.

In terms of improvements, the former Bristol Rovers man wants to see his team support each other.

He explained: “It’s more about them understanding each other, understanding that they can help with talking and communication.

“It’s all about what I’ve learned over those years and games and I’ve definitely learnt that you lose some of them, you draw some of them and you win some of them!

“It’s about what you can do with your structure and your patterns that they need to take onto the pitch what we’re telling them.

“Sometimes you have to tell them in a different way so I’m bringing all sorts of different things to them but I’m learning as fast as I can with who I’ve got and what we’re doing.

“I’m catching up with what they do and trying to add to what they do and trying to give them a bit of belief and confidence.

“I’ve seen them all play now so I’m getting to feel confident about who I’m picking and who I’m up against."
