Swindon forward Paul Glatzel has recognised the importance of Town’s upcoming games and appreciates the must-win factor.

The Robins face teams such as Morecambe, Colchester and Fleetwood in fixtures that are good opportunities for the Wiltshire side to drive away from the relegation places.

Following the 2-2 draw against Accrington, Ian Holloway’s side are one point above the dreaded line and could fall into the bottom two if they don’t pick up important points.

He said: “I think at the moment, with the way the results have gone recently, every game’s important, every game’s a massive game.

“The teams are around there (the bottom) which might make it a slightly bigger game.

“We just need to focus on ourselves because we need to put in the performances in and we need to get the results to be able to pick up points.

“Obviously, everyone at the club knows that where we are at the moment isn’t good enough and we need to get up the league and we need to get up it quickly.”

Mark Kennedy was sacked after a poor start to the season and left the ex-Crystal Palace manager with the job of turning the season around.

After an inconsistent start to the season with minutes played for the former Liverpool striker, he discussed the role of Holloway and how he has been settling in with the new boss.

He said: “I think he’s obviously very passionate. He brings his points across very well and the boys know what he wants and we need to make sure that we take that on board quickly.

“There’s a change in terms of drive and aggression and I think he wants to be on the front foot.

“We need to make sure that we support each other, he’s big on the lads supporting each other and making sure everyone’s got options on the ball and to be brave on the ball as well.

“I think it’s just important for us to be aggressive, be on the front foot and go on and attack teams and to pick up points because we need to get up the league.”

The motivated character within the new manager has become obvious in recent weeks and Glatzel has claimed that the team need to get behind him.

“It always takes a while for players to understand the manager and for the manager to understand the players but he’s come in and he’s got us all on board quickly, which obviously needed to happen and we need to get behind him.

“He’s a big motivator and he’s got a lot of passion for the game and brings that across well so we just need to take what he’s showing us in training and implement that into our game.”
