MELKSHAM Town survived a late fightback from Wiltshire rivals Westbury United on Bank Holiday Monday to escape with a 3-2 success in Southern League Division One South.
Richard Fey's men were three goals to the good as late as the 84th minute at the Oakfield Stadium after Aaron Parsons and a double from Jay Malshanskyj had put the hosts in a commanding position.
Sam Jordan pulled one back for Westbury in the 84th minute, and Ryan Bole netted a penalty in added time. But it was too little, too late for the recently-promoted side.
In the pair's previous game of the weekend, Malshanskyj netted the only goal of the game in the fourth minute away at Tavistock to hand Melksham a first win of the season on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Harvey Flippance and Bole scored in a 2-1 win for Westbury at home to Wimborne Town.
Elsewhere, Corsham Town enjoyed a superb weekend in FA Vase and Hellenic League Premier Division action.
Kieran Baggs' side beat Cove 3-1 in the FA Vase on Saturday thanks to goals from Ryan Bath and Jamal Chevelleau.
The Wiltshire outfit then continued their unbeaten run via a 1-0 victory away at county rivals Royal Wootton Bassett Town on Monday.
Callum Demkiv produced the all-important contribution as Bassett had Jack Hobson-McVeigh sent off for two yellow cards.
Shrivenham lost 4-3 on penalties to Portishead Town in the Vase - following a 0-0 draw - but bounced back on Monday by seeing off Wantage Town by a goal to nil, Callum Parsons scored for Shrivvy.
In Bradford Town's only action of the weekend, the Bobcats went down 1-0 at home to Mangotsfield United in the Hellenic League on Monday.
