Ross Adams is itching to get back to league duty after Heybridge Swifts' visit in the FA Trophy on Saturday.
The Rymans Premier League outfit are hoping to inflict more cup misery on the Bluebirds after their 3-2 home defeat to Horsham in the FA Cup last week.
But the defender knows the Southern League Premier Division is their main focus and, barring a replay, Chippenham should travel to Rugby Town on Tuesday - a month after their last league game.
"It is always in the back of your mind that other teams might be getting away, but last week the results went for us," said Adams after the Bluebirds dropped to eighth.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to the league, although we know we've got some hard games coming up.
"But it doesn't mean we are not concentrating on the Trophy."
Swifts come to Chippenham, for their second round qualifying tie, unbeaten in seven games and the 23-year-old is not taking anything for granted.
"They didn't have a great start but have picked up and have had some good results," he said.
"We know we are in for a difficult game after playing a team in the same league last week.
"But we are confident against anyone at home."
Their first defeat at Hardenhuish Park in ten months last Saturday, frustrated Adams and he knows the Bluebirds need to start keeping clean sheets - starting tomorrow.
"We seem to make things hard for ourselves, no matter what game it is," he said.
"I don't think there is any secret. We work on things in training but it is never the same in a competitive game.
"But they will come if we keep working hard and we know we can get the goals at the other end."
But, Adams has scored just once, in the 2-2 with Bashley in August, and is desperate to add to his tally and beat fellow defender Kevin Halliday.
He said: "We've got a bit of a bet on, only £20, but he's definitely got two and is claiming another so I need to reduce the gap."
