Football: Chippenham Town boss Adie Mings says he had some soul searching to do after their FA Cup exit to Horsham.
The Bluebirds suffered their first home defeat under Mings and, following the 3-2 reverse on Saturday, the manager revealed his young side were shattered.
He said: "I had to search myself and the management team. For the first time, over the last few days, I have really had to work hard as a manager to eradicate what went on Saturday.
"I've had to reassure these lads they will have bigger days because, after the game, it was the most disappointed dressing room I have come across."
Mings believes his side froze but hopes the players will experience another big game atmosphere when they host Heybridge Swifts in the FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round on Saturday.
"With the media build up it was already a big occasion and, by the time Saturday came, the players were already drained," he said.
"It was a great occasion and I wish we could have more Saturdays like that, with people seeing what these lads are capable of."
The Bluebirds took steps to recovery from their galling FA Cup exit with a 3-2 Errea Cup win at Bridgwater Town on Tuesday.
"It was important to bounce back and now we need to get ready for Saturday again," said Mings.
"The trophy is the one we have realistically got a chance of going a long way in."
Meanwhile, Mings has signed goalkeeper Paul Tassell from Bishops Cleeve, while striker Luke Hopper has extended his loan spell at Cirencester Town by a month.
