Devizes policeman Phil Kibble will represent Wales next month in the National Team Championship.
The 42-year-old will travel to Stormont in Northern Ireland for a 12km cross country race against England, Northern Ireland and Scotland for the Welsh Vet 40 team on Saturday November 17.
"It is what I have been working towards this season and I am just looking forward to pitting myself against runners the same age as me," said Kibble who won the National British Police Triathlon Championship this year.
"It means I will have represented Wales in every age group so I am quite proud."
The athlete from New Zealand, near Goatacre, isn't putting himself, or the six man team, under too much pressure before the event, but says they are targeting a medal.
"I'm personally going into it hoping to get into the top 15 but the team has a great chance of a medal," said Kibble, who competed for Great Britain in the 1990 Commonwealth Games.
