WORTON & Cheverell remain top of the Premier Division table in the Shoestrings Chargrill-sponsored Chippenham & District Sunday League after a 5-0 defeat of Box Rovers.
George Bettles headed the villagers in front and Tom Slater doubled the lead after the break before making it 3-0 with a stunning free-kick. Strikes from Ben House and Rory Collins then sealed the victory.
Bromham travelled to AFC Melksham and ended their hosts’ three-match winning run with a 5-2 success, which owed much to Caleb Englefield’s hat-trick.
Eddie Summers’ opener for Bromham was cancelled out by Dan Broom but Adam Richards regained the lead for the visitors before Englefield’s free-kick made it 3-1 at the interval. Englefield rifled home a sublime second after the restart and completed his hat-trick from a corner. James Dark got Melksham’s second.
Semington returned to winning ways courtesy of a 2-1 triumph at Faded.
A goalkeeping error gifted Semington the opener as Tony McElhone headed home. Marc Scammell then made it 2-0 before Ollie Cooper pulled one back for Faded.
Lacock kept up their title challenge and remain second thanks to a 9-0 victory over Westbury Rangers.
Mark Dolman led the way with a hat-trick, while Dan King, Billey Gleed and Kieron Gleed netted two each.
Division One
SINCE suffering an opening-day loss, The Foresters Arms have turned things around and a 4-1 triumph at Sutton Benger was their third win on the bounce.
Goals from Gary Perrott and Ian Dowell put Foresters 2-0 up inside the opening 10 minutes but Benger got a lifeline just before half-time through Ethan Jones. Sean Kingsbury restored the two-goal cushion with a 30-yard stunner before Tom Robinson’s goal sealed the win.
FC Libby picked up their first point of the season last time out but came down to earth with a bang in a 12-0 loss to Old Road.
Seamus Mooney and Matt Poole scored four each, while efforts from Aaron Holbrook, Jack Fraser, Sam Van Weenan and an own goal made up the dozen.
Lion & Fiddle rode their luck to claim a 4-2 victory over a Kingfisher side who missed a penalty and were denied by the woodwork three times.
Will Stone put Kingfisher in front but Conner McKay’s deflected effort restored parity for Lion before he scored two penalties to complete his hat-trick and make it 3-1. Gavin Freegard missed a spot-kick for Kingfisher before Stone added his second to make things interesting, only for Steve Knight’s strike to wrap up the points up for the hosts.
After suffering defeat in their opening two games of the season, a 4-2 victory for North Star Club over Biddestone earned them a third win on the spin.
A Ryan Armstrong penalty and Keenan Burrell’s effort put Biddestone 2-1 ahead after Tyler Beattie had given Star the lead. A first of the morning for Dean Fry restored parity at half-time before Fry’s second and Mike McKeller’s finish sealed victory for Star.
The Bell remain top of the table after they came from 2-0 down to beat New Inn Wacker 3-2, with all the goals coming in the first half.
Sean Horobin’s double put New Inn in charge but Jake Waters halved the arrears before Ben Tylee’s brace completed The Bell’s comeback.
Westbury Railway defeated Sporting Box 3-0.
Jake Letteboer scored the opener before Matt Greatly doubled the Railwaymen’s advantage and Grant volleyed home the third.
Division Two
ROYAL Oak stretched their 100 per cent start with a 2-1 win at FC Trowbridge to stay second in the table behind leaders FC Devizes United.
A debut goal for Rob Mitchell and Josh Duckett’s penalty won it for Oak after Matt Morris scored on his debut for Trowbridge.
Bremhill View are the top scores in the division following an 11-1 triumph at home to Wednesday Warriors.
Tom Sigee helped himself to five-timer, Tom Strattion bagged a hat-trick, while Luke Bennett, Jamie Crump and Jake Mizen shared the others. Bradley Edwards replied.
Chippenham Icons defeated London Road Inn 4-1.
Ryan Nicholls’ brace and a goal each for Adam O’Keefe and James Weston made up Icons’ quartet. Patch Whitlock replied.
The game between previously unbeaten duo Lavis and FC Devizes United went the way of the latter 3-2.
A Jordan Anning brace and Kian Fulford’s strike put United 3-0 ahead before Mark Maguire came off the bench for Lavis to net a double. A red card for United’s Oscar Webster made things interesting but his team-mates held on for the win.
Misfits are still looking for their first win of the season after they were beaten 10-3 at home by Pack Horse.
Josh Madle scored four times, Will Summers netted twice and singles from Adam Gerrard, James Pope, Tim Fry and Jack Michelmore brought up the double figures. Floyd Garrett (2) and Harry Deacon replied.
Spartak Rudloe had lost their opening four games but finally chalked up their first points of the season thanks to a 3-1 win at home to Steele Ashton.
Ollie Deane scored a hat-trick, while Nathanial Edwards got Ashton’s goal.
