Division Two: Pacesetters Crown Cosmos have been joined on 12 points at the top of the table by Cooper Avon after they failed to claim maximum points from their match against Hullavington, who are starting to show that their improved form on last season is her to stay and that it wasn't just a flash in the pan. Hullavington gave Cosmos a massive scare before the Devizes based side who had switched the game from All Cannings to Green Lane hit back to claim a 3-3 draw. Crown Cosmos took the lead early when they caught the visitors defence napping and Stuart Skinner sneaked through Hullavington's defence and slid the ball past Jack Ward for the opener. Hullavington equalised when James Nation's corner caught the wind and curled straight in leaving Cosmos defenders and keeper stranded on the line. Soon after another excellent corner from Nation hit the bar from a similar situation.
Hullavington had the wind against them in the second half and they were put under pressure which came after they lost keeper Ward who was replaced by Andy Newbury who was forced to make a couple of good saves. Hullavington took the lead when Mark Lane broke down the left, and found Ed Wilkins who was brought down in the box. Nation stepped up to take the spot kick which just crept in to make it 2-1. Cosmos hit back almost immediately when keeper Newbury was unable to hold on to Nick Taylor's ferocious strike which fell to Skinner who stabbed the ball home to make it two each. Hullavington regained the lead when Ed Wilkins fired home his 10th goal of the season shortly afterwards. The villagers surrendered the lead once more when Nick Taylor was left unmarked at the far post to head home the equaliser. Hullavington were under a lot of pressure in the last 15 minutes of the game, but keeper Newbury made a couple good saves to deny Cosmos a winner and they almost stole both points themselves when Pete O'Neil broke clear only to be denied by Cosmos keeper.
Cooper Avon squeezed out a 3-2 victory away at FC Bradford who had they not lost the services of Steve Bryant to a second half injury they believe they might have been able to hold the Avon boys to a draw. Cooper who were without the likes of Simon Gillatt and James Worsley through suspension were dealt a further blow prior to kick off when they were told that Mikki Harrison wouldn't be available as he had been badly injured in an altercation in Bath the previous night. In spite of their bad news Cooper took the lead via Graham Griffiths who opener was wiped out by Phil Radwell. James Ponsford reclaimed the lead for Cooper but once again Bradford hit back to level matters this time it was Mark Robinson who hit the target which made it 2-2. James Ponsford had the chance to put cooper ahed but he missed from the penalty spot, but Josh Robinson came to his rescue as he saved his blushes when he knocked in the winner, which was good enough to earn Gary Newman's side what could prove to be a valuable two points.
White Hart Combe had to battle against the wind and rain and a stubborn Chippenham Police side in the first half of their match at the Police Headquarters, Devizes but at the interval they had secured a 3-1 lead before going on the rampage in the second period to run out 9-2 victors. Chris Cox scored the first for Combe but the boys in blue levelled midway through the half when Steve Worthy restored parity. On 35 minutes Craig Fullam scored from 18 yards when he cross come shot sailed in. James Stone than raced clear to make it 3-1. The second half was even the first 15 minutes but when Rich Bright scored his second of the season it was one way traffic from then on. James Stone added his second of the game to make it 5-1. The sixth came from Combe keeper Dan Quinsey who launched his kick up filed, which took one bounce and went over the helpless Police keeper. Combe then reshuffled their pack and put centre back Rob Preston up front and within 10 minutes he had two goals to his name with two good finishes. Jason Roberts scored a second for the Police before, Jamie Farquharson finished the scoring with Combe's ninth of the game..
Pig & Whistle United recorded a victory for only the second time this term, thanks to their 2-0 triumph over Sutton Benger. Wayne Painter's first goal of the season put United in front and Emilio Menghini sealed the win with their second, with both goals coming in the first half.
Audley FC had to get Chris Shipway to strap himself up and battle through the pain barrier, as his team were down to the bare bones for their match at Stanley Park against bottom of the table The Horse & Groom. Shipway may have only lasted an hour but his efforts were rewarded as Audley who finished the game with 10 men won 6-3. Tom Beavan scored first for the Horse & Groom, before a stunning 25 yard curling effort from Dave Nolan brought the scores level. Dave Nolan made it 2-1 with his second of the game and Adam O'Keeffe added number three before Chris Yeo volleyed home number four to give the Audley what should have been a safe lead. The Horse & Groom worked an opening and two quick goals saw them reduce the gap to one goal, but the Audley dug deep and came back in to the game and a double from Mark Nolan made certain that the points stayed in Chippenham just as it was looking if The Horse & Groom might actually claim their first win of the campaign.
The extra hour in bed seemed to work wonders for Bremhill View Social Club who after a sluggish first half against The Crown Devizes scored seven unanswered goals as they thumped the Crown 8-1. Dale Smith put Bremhill View in front on 30 minutes when he rounded the Crown keeper but 10 minutes later Kevin Bush netted for the Crown to make it one-one and before half time the Crown had a Darren Thorpe effort ruled out for offside. The second half saw Bremhill run riot with Karl Lovelock's 25 yarder making it 2-1 on 47 minutes. Dale Smith hit the target four minutes later and within a minute Terry Cox produced a moment of magic when he twisted and turned in the area before producing a quality finish to make it 4-1. Graeme Neale followed up Dale Smith's shot to add number five and Mark Smith converted a Terry Cox cross to give Bremhill View a five-goal advantage. Cox turned provider again for number seven when he fed Graeme Neale who ran 30 yards before planting the ball home. Dale Smith who completed his hat trick when he tapped home a Terry Cox cross finished off the scoring.
