We gave ourselves too much to do on Saturday. Horsham are a good strong physical side but we never imposed ourselves on them.
That is what the first half an hour is all about, earning the right to play, and we didn't get going until late.
In the one game where we needed to be on the top we weren't and there were a lot of disappointed faces in the dressing room afterwards.
We didn't play well and it was the worst we have done for a while. Everyone is gutted because we know we are better than that.
If we look at the last 15 minutes when Aaron Cornwall was running at them, they couldn't deal with him. That is what we can be like, but for some reason we didn't start until then.
You cannot fault the commitment but it was too late. We threw caution to the wind but if we had done that from the start, it would have been a totally different result.
Obviously all the goals came in the second half, their first after about a minute in.
Their second and third goals were very good but we gave them too much time and were punished.
Kes went off with a head injury just before half time but I don't think we lost because he was missing.
He is a quality player though and has been brilliant for us this season - but so have the rest of the defence and we know we have got the quality to cover any injuries.
We've got the Errea Cup game at Bridgwater on Tuesday and will be looking for a reaction.
It will be hard to motivate the lads but that is what we will have to do.
I'm still at least a week away from fitness, because of my heel, but the ground is getting softer so hopefully that is going to help me when I come back.
