Speedway: Knock-Out Cup Final, first leg
The curtain brilliantly fell on the Robins' 2007 campaign in a crackerjack Knock-Out Cup Final, first leg, against the Elite League Champions, Coventry.
The competition couldn't be more finely poised after the two powerhouse sides were unable to be separated on a drizzly night at the Abbey Stadium, where a scattering of brilliant racing warmed those in attendance.
The lead changed hands on several occasions, with each team briefly building a 2-point cushion only for it to be eradicated by their opponents.
There was plenty of scintillating action to accompany the close score-line, with riders from both teams adapting well to the slick conditions.
Leigh Adams led the Robins wonderfully and his paid 17-point haul was sensationally acquired. On two occasions, the Australian stormed through the field to take the lead.
Firstly in heat thirteen, Adams passed Coventry captain Scott Nicholls and then in heat fifteen, he somehow found a route past the high-flying Chris Harris.
Elsewhere, the Polish duo of Seba Ulamek and Tomasz Chrzanowski both enjoyed a fruitful evening, whilst their compatriot Damian Balinski's bundles of effort wasn't reflected by his points return.
The Bees were well led by the thoroughly entertaining Harris, whilst Billy Janniro and Steve Johnston also contributed some eye-catching performances.
