A NEW junior golf format that is being rolled out across the county by Golf Foundation is proving a hit in Wiltshire.
Golf Sixes involves six clubs from across the county entering squads of young golfers to compete in a pairs Texas Scramble over six short course holes.
In total, eight events will be played between May and October.
On Sunday, North Wilts hosted the competition’s fifth round – with Bassett Down, Broome Manor, Chippenham, North Wilts, Salisbury & South Wilts and Wrag Barn taking part.
A putting competition started the afternoon, before 36 budding youngsters played on the course proper.
After some strong performances, Broome Manor were crowned winners – followed by hosts North Wilts.
The sixth event is at Cumberwell on September 1.
