Division Three

The big match in Division Three featuring third placed AFC Bell and AFC Melksham who are currently in second spot was postponed with Melksham being the guilty party as they were unable to raise a first choice 11 for the crunch match between two of the division's big guns.

With both teams likely to challenging for promotion come next May, Melkshams' manager Mike Rogers didn't want to risk his under strength side who were without striker Wayne Bailey and a couple of other players for the key match.

Bell's manager Craig Townsend was far from happy with his opponent's decision to call the match off especially as he had spent most of the week trying to put a team together, but was determined to get the game played no matter who he had available.

Melksham may have wished that they had made a greater effort to play what would have been a weakened Bell team, as not only will they be fined for postponing the game they have now been ruled out of the League's incentive for which they still had the chance to share the £1000 prize fund.

Perhaps AFC Melksham and other teams should take a leaf out of the White Horse book, the Westbury based side might not be the most talented in the league, but in spite having only ten players they were not prepared to postpone their game against Bromham (Sunday) who made their numerical advantage count as they scored five goals in each half to run out 10-2 victors.

Freddie Paget led the scoring for Bromham with four, one of which came from the penalty spot. Danny Powell and Alex Wells both scored doubles with Mark Bowden and Ady Kember scored one each. Kember has only played twice this team and each time he has netted and he went close to scoring a second but his 35 yard effort cannoned of the bar.

White Horse never gave up and late goals from Andy Field and Daniel Rackley form whom it was his first goal for the club gave them a glimmer of hope from what was otherwise a disastrous morning from the club who have now lost all their seven games to date.

Corsham Park Rangers poor run of form continues, as their 6-1 home loss against Chippenham West End Club was their fifth defeat on the spin.

Scott Nash bagged the opener for the West End Club on 21 minutes, and James Mullhall made it 2-0 when he tucked away his first penalty of the game in the 41st minute.

Rangers keeper Martin Perrett made a brave attempt to deny West End a third but although he saved Paul Mannings initial effort he couldn't prevent Tristan Roberts from volleying the rebound to make it 3-0.

Mullhall's econd spot kick of the game made it 4-0, Scott Nash scored two more goals to complete his hat trick as well as the West end's half dozen. Jamie Murphy scored Rangers consolation from the penalty spot aft Richard Johnson had been bought down.

Little George FC completed a league double over Westbury Rangers B, but their second match of the campaign was a lot closer than the first meeting which Little George won 9-1 although the reverse match ended 5-1 in favour of the visitors to Westbury the match was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests it was.

Little George took the lead when Lee Blackmore was on hand to tap home his first goal for the club after Gary Lock's long-range effort was only half saved by Rangers keeper.

Rangers were back on level terms before the break when Matty Friendship squared things up at one each. Joe Forester regained the lead for Little George with a shot from distance.

Rangers Ross Pugh should have levelled matters but missed with a close range header which was to prove costly as Joe Forester scored another great goal for Little George to make it 3-1 and kill the game off.

Gary Lock add number four and Justin Phillamore continued his fine scoring form, from right back as he hit his third in as many games to completed the scoring which earned Little George a victory and moved them into third place.
