Pewsey Vale were to rue the missed chances,after losing 2-0 at home to a strong Headington Amateurs side.
Scott Ward wasted a good chance on 17 minutes.Tom Ritchie won the ball in the midfield a long ball to Ward,who went past the defence,but his final shot was weak and went past the near post.
Pewsey striker Craig Wall headed in the goal on 22 minutes,but his goal was not allowed,being judged as off-side.
This was followed by another good chance,when a long ball to Wall,was punched clear by the visitors keeper Daniel Bianchini,as the Pewsey pressure continued.
The visitors keeper made a good save,going down at the near post,from a Ryan Banks shot on the 31st minute,pushing away for the corner.
The deadlock was broken on 34 minutes,when Headington's Mark Johnson played an excellent lob over the home keeper Stewart Thompson.
Pewsey looked for the equaliser,and again unlucky on the 56 minutes when Ward struck a powerfull shot into a packed goalmouth that hit his team mate Ritchie,that blocked the ball's route into the goal.
During a spell of pressure from Headington the Vale keeper Thompson made a great point blank save from Luke Geoff,who had only just come off the subs bench.
Headington made the game safe,when on 82 minute,the game was allowed to continue with the Vale claiming off-side for Nick Bayliss to score.
