Premier Two
Chippenham Mens first team notched up their first win of the current season with an excellent team performance.
The first goal of the game came when the short corner strike from Nigel Stonham found Morris at the far post.
He deflected the ball in for the opening goal.
Soon after the restart, Chippenham lost their concentration which allowed Bath to attack down the middle. Afer some concerted pressure, Bath won several short corners which gave them the equalising goal.
But Chippenham came back and their second goal came from Morris. With ten minutes of the first half remaining, a goal mouth scramble and a reverse stick shot put Chippenham back in the lead.
The second half saw Chippenham tighten up their defence with some excellent tackles coming in from Ward, Bean, Thomas and Heartford.
Midway through the second half, Chippenham won a short corner which was injected well by Fisher. Stonham flicked the ball low and hard to the goalkeeper's right.
At 1-3, the game was far from over and with some quite brilliant play between forwards Price and Main, this exerted more pressure on the Bath defence. Morris completed his hat-trick when his reverse stick shot found the bottom corner.
With five minutes to go to the final whistle, a soft goal was scored when Simons met the attacker on the edge of the D. A mistimed tackle from Simons left an open goal. A reverse stick shot found the empty net.
