Swindon Robins cruised into their first-ever Knockout Cup final in the top flight with an emphatic second leg victory at Reading last night.
As expected, they easily took the honours with a 54-38 success to win overall by the massive margin of 34 points.
The bad news is that they will face arch-rivals Coventry Bees in the final in a week's time in 10 days' time.
Skipper Leigh Adams was immaculate as ever, going through the card notching two wins and three brilliant pieces of team-riding for yet another paid maximum.
Swindon's top scorer on the night though was Charlie Gjedde, who again showed his liking for the Smallmead circuit.
The Danish star clocked up paid 16 points from his six rides and produced two pieces of magical speedway racing in heats four and six to come from the back and take the chequered flag.
Tomasz Chrzanowski also hit double figures with 13 points, while fellow Pole Sebastian Ulamek notched paid 10.
He struggled early on, but got his act together in the final stages with two race wins.
Reserves Andy Moore weighed in with paid seven, but Cory Gathercole, replacing the absent Damian Balinski, failed to score.
For the hosts, skipper Mark Lemon and Sam Simota top-scored with 11+1 each.
The latter recorded three of Reading's four race wins, while the other was gained by Chris Neath, the former Swindon Premier League rider.
Robins opened the meeting with the first heat advantage as skipper Adams stormed to an easy win in a quick time of 59.55 - partner Ulamek taking third spot.
Racers hit straight back with a 4-2 to level, however Swindon's Polish duo of Chrzanowski and Ulamek then hit the first 5-1 of the night in race three.
Gjedde was penalised in the next for delaying the start, but produced a brilliant ride off the 15-metre handicap mark.
He picked off Gathercole and Racers' Chris Neath after one and a half laps and blasted past Jonas Davidsson coming off the last bend for a sensational win.
And Gjedde produced another great ride immediately afterwards.
He was outgated by Mark Lemon, but swooped past him on the fourth bend of lap two for his second win of the night and with Andy Moore taking third, Robins went 21-15 up.
Adams, taking a rider replacement outing, combined with Chrzanowski for an easy 5-1 in heat seven to extend the lead on the night to 26-16 and to a massive 28-points overall.
Team boss Tim Sugar introduced skipper Mark Lemon for a tactical ride in eight to stop the flow, but it only partially worked.
Ulamek blasted out of the start to take the chequered flag, but with Neath allowing Lemon through, Racers took a 5-3 advantage.
They struck back further in the next as Gjedde missed the gate off the graveyard inside trap and could make no inroads on Sam Simota and Davidsson, who took a 5-1 to cut Robins lead on the night to only 30-26.
However, in the last race before the interval, Gjedde returned to winning ways with a comfortable win over guest Edward Kennett and Lemon, but Chrzanowski fared no better than anyone else coming off gate one.
Immediately on the restart, Swindon clinched their place in the final, with a 5-1 from the dynamic duo of Ulamek and the team-riding Adams.
Reading gained some consolation in the next, as Simota reeled off his third win of the night.
But the points were shared with Chrzanowski and Moore taking the minor places.
The rout continued as Gjedde and Adams strolled to another maximum in heat 13 and, to round the night off, Gjedde featured in another with Chrzanowski to give Swindon a huge 16-point win on the night and a blistering 34-point success overall.
