HOLDERS Bromham will face Lion & Fiddle in the final of this season’s Gooding Accounts-sponsored Subsidiary Cup in the Chippenham & District Sunday League after seeing off respective opponents Sporting Box and Brunel in the semi-finals.

James Weymouth pulled a goal back for Sporting Box to set up tense finish, but in the end, it was just a consolation as Bromham held on for victory.

A 2-0 defeat against Melksham-based rivals FC Libby has left New Inn Wacker with a mountain to climb if they are going to claim runners-up spot.

Faded moved into second on Thursday following their 6-0 success at home to Brunel.
With top scorer Zack Manna between the sticks, Faded had the new-look partnership of Billal Karmouni and Dan Jones up front, and it was the former who put them 1-0 up.

Ed Baldwin put the Fishermen ahead, but goals from Darrell Hitchcock and Jayson Stokes saw Fox & Hounds lead 2-1 before Richie Bolter levelled matters prior to half-time.
Luke Carr scored direct from a corner to hand the lead back to the Fishermen, a second from Stokes made it 3-3, only for Carr to bag his second of the morning. Back came Hounds, though, and an Iyke Ichiebuka penalty meant it ended honours even at 4-4.
