Motorbike racer Tommy Bridewell is ready to erase the 2007 season from his memory on the eve of the final meeting.
The 19-year-old from Etchilhampton is preparing for the British Superbikes Championship meet at Brands Hatch, which starts tomorrow.
It represents the end of a turbulent and tragic first season in the sport for Bridewell, who lost his brother and teammate, Ollie, in July after he died following a crash in practice at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.
"2007 is one of mark off the book and scribble out, it has been an astronomically bad year," he said.
"If everything goes well next season then it will be a fresh start in 2008. I am going to knuckle down to go out and prove how well I can ride a bike."
Dad Marcus, mum Liz and sister Charlotte will all be at the circuit raising money for Cancer Research, with Tommy and Charlotte driving a mini, restored in Ollie's memory, around the track.
The car is decorated in Ollie's racing colours and has been a labour of love for Tommy for the last three months.
"If we weren't doing it for Ollie then we would have never done it," he said.
"Since we've got it we've been working non stop to get it ready."
Once the weekend is over, the Team NB rider will turn his attention to next season.
"Everything is still up in the air," he said. "I'll have to see what comes up and if nothing does then it will be back to the drawing board."
For the immediate future though, Bridewell is concentrating on performing well in Kent, although he is not a fan of the circuit.
"I like the GP track but we race on the smaller 48 second a lap track," he said.
"To me it is a waste of time, I can't see the point of racing a 210 horse power superbike around a 48 second track.
"Brands Hatch is an awesome place but British Superbikes is supposed to be high calibre, so why are we mucking around."
