Runner Jane Wassell had a day to remember at the Oldbury-on-Severn ten-mile road race.
The Malmesbury-based athlete won the event in south Gloucestershire in a personal best time of 62mins 31secs and claimed the Avon County title.
"While I compete for Cirencester and live in Malmesbury I have Avon qualification because I was born in Bristol and lived for many years in Yate and Chipping Sodbury," explained Wassell.
"Apparently that is good enough to be eligible for the Avon title and I am delighted to win it. I was also very pleased with my PB.
"I don't tend to run 10 miles too often and my last was a long time ago when I think I ran around 65/66 minutes so to come out with that is very encouraging.''
