Chippenham Town captain Iain Harvey says the prospect of a big FA Cup draw will be all the motivation his players need to sweep Bashley aside at Hardenhuish Park tomorrow.
Harvey was part of the Bluebirds' squad that reached the first round proper in 2005/06, when the Wiltshire club were just 20 minutes away from a televised clash with Huddersfield.
There may still be several rounds between Chippenham and potential Football League opposition, but Harvey says that won't stop the players dreaming of a glamour tie in the world's oldest cup competition.
He said: "Some managers and players at our level see the FA Cup as a distraction - for me it's massive.
"Anyone who was in the squad a couple of years ago will tell you how exciting that run was. It was great for the players, great for the fans and great for the town in general.
"If we could put another good FA Cup run together it would be brilliant. Everyone is buzzing about it."
Tomorrow's third qualifying round tie may be a million miles from Wembley, but Harvey is expecting a severe test against the Southern Premier League newcomers.
Bashley held the Bluebirds to a 2-2 draw at Hardenhuish Park in August, when defender Ross Adams salvaged a point for the home side with a late header.
Said Harvey: "They were probably the most organised team we have come across this season.
"You could tell they had played together for a few years because the passing and movement off the ball was excellent.
"They were definitely worth a point on the day and we're under no illusions as to how tough this is going to be."
Chippenham's 5-1 thrashing of Tiverton Town on Tuesday night underlined the quality boss Adie Mings now has at his disposal, and Harvey has warned Bashley to beware another five-star display.
He said: "We are definitely playing much better football this season, and scoring more goals too.
"The new players have all settled in really well and confidence in the squad is high.
"We know it will be a tough game against Bashley but we are playing at home and we have to back ourselves to go through."
Harvey himself is hoping to shake off a recurring heel injury to play, while Adams should recover from the knock to the mouth which saw him need stitches on Tuesday.
Striker Sean Seavill is a major doubt with a knee injury.
