Swindon and Wootton Bassett meet in the EDF Energy Senior Vase second round clash at Stoneover Lane tomorrow - the first time the sides have met in a competitive fixture for four years.
Bassett are expecting a big crowd for the visit of their local rivals.
Vice-captain Jon Clarke says Swindon will be afforded a warm welcome but insists Bassett will be going all out for the win.
He said: "We have missed playing against Swindon ever since they moved out of the Southern Counties South.
"It's a game that we really want to win. Local pride is at stake, but you can also get some decent prize money if you progress further in the competition.
"I would like to think playing at home would give us the advantage, but Swindon will probably bring just as many supporters anyway.
"We will try to play a high-tempo, running game and hopefully Swindon will do the same. It should be a very good day."
Swindon coach John Brown believes league form will count for nothing when the two sides lock horns.
The Greenbridge Road outfit thrashed Amersham & Chiltern 45-3 on Saturday, but Brown expects a much closer encounter against Bassett.
He said: "They have been going well this season and we have a great deal of respect for them.
"It will be interesting to see how they shape up without Neil McCarthy in charge, but so far it doesn't seem to have affected them. It's always exciting to play in local derbies and we don't really get to play in enough of them.
"Unless the RFU re-draws the boundaries, we will have to rely on competitions like this, or promotion, to play Bassett on a regular basis."
Brown insists his side's Southern Counties North campaign remains a priority, but a repeat of their Vase run in 2005/06 would be welcome.
He said: "We will play a side that we think is strong enough to win, but we may bring in one or two development players too."
With an offer of 50p off a pint of beer, supporters of both sides are expected to pack the Stoneover Lane clubhouse to watch the World Cup semi-final between England and France in Paris.
