IN DEMAND Tom Etheridge says he is happy to stay at Chippenham Town despite Swindon Supermarine's interest.
The Bluebirds Southern League Premier Division rivals have made a seven day approach for the left winger but he is determined to force his way into Adie Mings' side.
"I am playing the best football I have done in three years and I am just looking to break into our team," he said.
"Other clubs get players in and ship them out if they are not doing the business.
"Chippenham is one of the most settled clubs around, Adie has the players he wants and we are all buzzing and looking for promotion."
Mings informed him of Supermarine's bid after last night's 5-1 home win over Tiverton Town, where Etheridge was an unused substitute.
Despite failing to play in the last three games, the 20-year-old has been given assurances by the manager.
"He says I am close to starting and wants me to carry on the way I have been playing," said Etheridge, who has scored one goal in six appearances this season.
"I'm not going to palm Mark Collier (Supermarine boss) off when he calls and I'm going to listen to what he has to say but I'm pretty content where I am."
Collier believes Etheridge would be a big asset to his side if he decides to move.
He said: "He is on the periphery at Chippenham a little bit and might get more starts with us.
"We are looking at strengthening and Tom is a key target."
