LAST season’s beaten AM Print & Copy-sponsored Knockout Cup finalists, Box Rovers, twice came from behind to beat Pheasant 3-2 in the semi-finals and book a return visit to Hardenhuish Park at the end of April, where they will face AFC Melksham for a shot at silverware in the Chippenham & District Sunday League.
Mark Dolman scored from close range to give Pheasant a half-time lead, and although Justin Flowers got Box back on level terms, they fell behind for a second time when Gary Lock put Pheasant 2-1 up.
A second from Flowers restored parity and the teams were spared extra time when Connor McCarron netted the winner for Box.
Subsidiary Cup
IT MAY have taken them most of the season, but Wednesday Warriors recorded a first win since joining the league thanks to a thrilling 9-6 success away at White Hart in Group Four of the Gooding Accounts-sponsored Subsidiary Cup.
Bradley Edwards led the way with a hat-trick, there were two goals each for Jacob Charlwood and Alex Mitchell, plus singles for Ethan Green and Mark Wallis. Steve Browning (3), Ali Bardell (2) and Patch Whitlock replied for White Hart.
Leading 2-0 at the break against Gloucester Conservative, Brunel were on course to finish top of Group Four, but the group was thrown wide open as the Cons hit back to claim a 2-2 draw.
Adam Gerrard and Josh Dolman put Brunel in control, but that was cancelled by Ollie Nash’s second-half double.
Faded picked up their first Group One victory thanks to a 2-1 success against last season’s beaten finalists, Semington.
Semington led through Ed McCormack, but Ollie Cooper netted the equalizer before Zack Manna’s penalty won the match for Faded.
Audley are top of Group Two following a 3-2 victory over Kingfisher.
Connor Laidlaw, a Tim Harris own goal and Gareth Jones won the game for Audley, while Ed Baldwin and Paul Mannings were on target for the Fishermen.
A 5-2 triumph for Sporting Box at Biddestone has put them in with a chance of finishing top of Group Three.
Mike Pattermore (2), Gino De Antonis, Dani Allencar and Morgan Summerfield found the net for Sporting, with both Biddestone goals coming from Ryan Pagett.
FC Libby were unable to raise a team for their clash with Lion & Fiddle, handing their opponents a 3-0 walkover win as a result.
Premier Division
FC LACOCK remain in the hunt to be crowned champions following a narrow 2-1 success over Bath Road.
Lacock’s Kieran Baggs and Road’s Matt Spear traded goals in the first half before Billy Gleed netted to earn Lacock all three points.
Corey Gardner got all four goals to fire Westbury Rangers to a 4-0 win at home over Bell By The Green.
Division One
PROMOTION hopefuls Fox & Hounds saw their challenge come off the rails following a shock 6-2 defeat at 10-man Calne United.
Calne trailed at half-time to an Alan Hitchcock goal, but with the advantage of the wind in the second period, they raced 3-1 ahead thanks to a George Dolman double and Cosmin Sorin's effort.
Rob Christopher pulled a goal back for the Hounds, but Dolman scored a couple more to complete a four-timer and Alex Ambrus’ strike made up United’s half-dozen.
With the title already in the bag, Bromham show no signs of taking their foot off the gas after digging deep to maintain their unbeaten record in a 3-3 draw against New Inn Wacker.
Bromham went in at the break 2-0 down as goals from Wacker's Rob Brown and Sean Horobin threatened an upset.
Ryan Bole halved the deficit for the champions and Sam Wallis soon levelled matters, only for Matt Carroll to regain the lead for New Inn.
However, Wallis promptly levelled for a second time from the penalty spot to earn Bromham a point.
Division Two
LION & Fiddle remain top of the pile, but saw their lead cut to three points after Worton & Cheverell’s 4-1 triumph away at Old Road.
The game was won in the opening 30 minutes as Worton raced into a 4-0 lead thanks to goals from Ben House (2), Ali Bradley and Jack Hopper. Matt Poole pulled back a consolation for Old Road in the second half.
