WILTSHIRE golfer Jordan Smith returns to action on the European Tour after a three-week lay-off at this week’s Oman Open.
Derry Hill’s Smith has not played since finishing in a tie for 54th place at the Saudi International in the first week of February.
The tournament at Muscat, which got under way on Thursday, represents Smith’s fifth of the 2019 season – and fourth of the current calendar year.
The 26-year-old has a best finish of a tie for 11th place at January’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which yielded a 100,000 Euro prize.
Bowood player Smith was due to play alongside Belgian Nicolas Colsaerts and Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger in the first two rounds at Al Mouj Golf this week.
