NEW Inn Wacker edged out fellow Division One outfit Calne United 4-3 in the AM Print & Copy Knockout Cup first round in the Shoestrings Chargrill-sponsored Chippenham & District Sunday League.

Sean Horobin was on top form as he scored a hat-trick for the winners, with Brentley Roberts’ single making up the quartet. Matt Fenn (2) and Lewis Stevens replied for Calne.

Premier Division side AFC Melksham had an easy passage through to the last 16 with a 10-0 win over Division Two’s Biddestone.

Marcus Humm marked his Melksham debut with a hat-trick, while James Dark also got a treble. Kieron Mills, Lee Ridout, Jack Woolsgrove and Sam Tallis shared the others.

Another Premier Division team, Bath Road, eased through with a 6-1 win over Division One side Brunel.

Tom Sigee and Matt Spear scored two each, Tom Stratton got one and a Jack Williamson own goal made up the half-dozen. Williamson also scored at the right end for Brunel.

Premier Division side FC Lacock saw off the challenge of Division One’s Westbury Railway 6-1 at home.

Goals from Luke Clements, Josh Bright, Josh Hard, Billy Gleed and a couple for Kieran Hard made up Lacock’s half-dozen as John Williams replied.

PREMIER DIVISION

NORTH Wiltshire dropped three points in their bid to be crowned champions after a 3-2 loss at FC Bradford.

The hosts made a blistering start and were 2-0 up in the opening 10 minutes as Mark Maguire scored both, but Matt Webb reduce the arrears for prior to half-time. Ashley Fletcher then brought North Wiltshire level, only for Jimmy Meade to volley home the winner for Bradford.

Pheasant now find themselves as the outright pole-sitters after they defeated North Star Club 9-1, with Paul Gittins leading the way with four goals.

Nick Ridout helped himself to three and Nick Manifold and Rich Hudson bagged one each as Mike McKeller scored North Star’s consolation.

Semington kept their title hopes alive with a 7-0 success at home to Bell By The Green, who were again let down by a number of no-shows.

Rich Allum’s treble and one from Scott Boyd gave Semington a 4-0 half-time advantage before Mike Stevens also scored a hat-trick in the second half.

Two late goals saw Westbury Rangers record a 3-1 victory over Box Rovers.

Dale Rowland gave Rangers an early lead, but Rovers, who played the whole game with 10 men, restored parity with 15 minutes to play through Adam Mitchell. However, Rangers found another gear and goals from Ashley Easton and Stewart Lisowski sealed the win.

DIVISION ONE

A 4-2 TRIUMPH for FC Libby at home to Kingfisher moved them into the top half of the table, while dropping their guests into the relegation zone.

Rhys Edwards, Sam Robinson and Will Thomson were on target for Libby in the first half before a second for Edwards made it 4-0. Chris Cox netted a penalty for the Fishermen and Andy Rose claimed a second, but it was too little, too late.

Sutton Benger came from behind to claim a point in a 1-1 draw away at Faded.

The home side took a first-half lead through Ashley Poms, but were denied all three points when James Weston fashioned a last-minute equaliser.

DIVISION TWO

LEADERS Worton & Cheverell came from a goal down to claim a 3-1 victory at home to Old Road.

Matthew Poole gave Old Road the lead, but that was cancelled out by Jamies Bayes before half-time. Ashley Huntley then put Worton back in front before Lee Himsworth sealed the points.

Audley FC were held to a 3-3 draw by a White Hart, who had led by two goals at the break.

Efforts from Patch Whitlock, Mark Smollens and a Matt Harvey own goal looked to have White Hart well on top, but Audley turned things around and Harvey’s effort at the right end, one from Jordan Tarrant and a debut goal for Aaron Tinson tied the scores.

An 8-2 victory for Lion & Fiddle away at Gloucester Conservative keeps them in second in the standings.

Joey Cunningham and Ryan Underwood both bagged hat-tricks, Louis Cunningham scored his first goal for the side and an own goal made up the winners’ total. Cons’ replies came from Ollie Nash and an own goal.
