NORTH Star Club picked up their first Premier Division point of the season in the Shoestrings Chargrill-sponsored Chippenham Sunday League following a 2-2 draw with Westbury Rangers.
Callum Hotine’s 10th-minute effort gave Rangers a first-half lead, which was cancelled out by Luke Palfrey. Dan Cox regained the lead for Rangers only for Matt Smart to restore parity for the hosts. Rangers had the chance to take all three points when they won a penalty on 80 minutes, but Cox saw his spot-kick saved by Jim Bettles.
FC North Wiltshire missed the chance to reclaim to spot after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Bath Road.
Bell By The Green suffered a 6-2 defeat on their trip to FC Bradford as Mark Maguire bagged four goals.
Harry Hamlin’s double made up Bradford’s half-dozen as James Stobart and Ashley Lock replied.
DIVISION ONE
A 4-1 VICTORY for Calne United at home to Westbury Railway earned them their first win since the opening day of the season.
Cosmin Soreanli put Calne ahead but Jamie Hancock levelled matters prior to the break. The second period saw Calne race clear as Matt Fenn claimed a three-timer to seal victory.
Bromham had to come from behind to claim a 4-2 victory over a Foresters Arms side who played much of the game with 10 men after Dan Neale was sent off.
Foresters led 2-1 at the break as a Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock double sandwiched Luke Child’s effort for Bromham. Rowles-Hitchcock then missed a second-half penalty before Foresters were hit by a sucker-punch as Bromham netted three quickfire goals to seal victory, with Ed Summers (2) and Caleb Englefield hitting the target.
Sutton Benger withstood a second-half onslaught from FC Libby to claim a 1-0 victory over their Melksham-based rivals as Jason Cole got the decisive goal in the first half.
DIVISION TWO
A 6-4 LOSS away at Biddestone denied White Hart a third straight win.
Ryan Pagget, who opened the scoring for Biddestone with a 25-yarder, netted a treble, while Ryan Armstrong scored twice and Adam Loveridge completed the half-dozen. Steve Browning’s penalty, Ali Moor-Bardell and a Patch Whitlock double kept White Hart in the game.
After suffering heavy losses in a number of their opening six matches, Wednesday Warriors will hope a 4-1 defeat at home to Sporting Box will help spur them on for the rest of the season, especially as they were drawing 0-0 after 45 minutes.
Jack Jones’ goal for Warriors was just a consolation as James Weymouth’s hat-trick and one from Joe Lewis earned Box the points.
WILTSHIRE SUNDAY CUP
BOX Rovers needed extra time before claiming a 5-4 triumph away at PSV Swindon.
Dan King (2), Adam Shipman and Jon Bazley scored for Box inside the 90 minutes before Conner McCarron netted the winner in the additional half-hour.
Jordan Kirk scored a hat-trick for AFC Melksham as they beat Faded 4-1.
James Dark’s single made up the Melksham quartet, while Radu Pandelicua scored Faded’s consolation.
Audley exited the competition after going down 10-5 at home to Swindon-based Gustoso.
Harry Myles (2), Conner Laidlaw, Gareth Jones and Tom Webb shared the Audley goals.
Worton & Cheverell marched into the next round with a commanding 10-2 victory at Brunel.
Ashley Huntley started the ball rolling before Luke Enderby bagged a hat-trick and one more from Alex Surman gave Worton a 5-1 interval lead. After the break, Wayne House scored a hat-trick himself, while Cameron Lee and Jamie Wallen made up the 10. Josh Dolman scored both Brunel goals.
Josh Hard and Billy Gleed both got trebles as FC Lacock thumped Salisbury side Barford Hornets 9-0.
Josh Bright, Darrin Moss and an own goal sealed the one-sided scoreline.
New Inn Wacker defeated Swindon outfit Highworth Town Sunday 2-1.
Rob Brown netted in the first half and Luke Whittard got the winner after the visitors had restored parity.
Old Road got the better of Gloucester Conservative 7-0 as Matt Poole and Sam Van Weenan got two goals each.
Jack Dunn, Kez Nickless-Mooney and Seamas Nickless-Mooney also struck for Old Road.
A 2-0 win for Swindon-based Croft Juniors ended Pheasant's hopes.
Swindon-based AFC Mannington scored late away at Semington to claim a 3-2 victory, with Danny Rimmer and Marc Scammell on target for the villagers.
Lion & Fiddle claimed a convincing 6-0 success away at Swindon Waiting rooms.
Steve Knight (2) and Conner McKay gave them a 3-0 interval lead, with Tom Blackman (2) and Alex De Silva made up the half-dozen.
