WESTBURY Rangers were unable to derail Shoestrings Chargrill-sponsored Chippenham Sunday League Premier Division leaders FC North Wiltshire, who battled to a 4-2 win at Meadow Lane to maintain their two-point advantage at the top.
Richard Tandy gave North Wilts an early lead and Matt Webb made it 2-0 inside nine minutes. Dan Cox halved the arrears for Westbury and claimed a second before the break, although a Webb penalty had put North Wilts 3-1 up in between. Jon O’Donovan then sealed North Wilts' latest success.
Bath Road fell to a 4-2 loss to Pheasant FC, for whom Paul Gittens got all the goals.
Bath Road led though Tom Sigee before being pegged back by Gittins, who then netted twice after the break to put Pheasant 3-1 up. Although Sigee’s 30-yard thunderbolt gave Bath Road hope, that disappeared when Gittins capped a remarkable performance with his fourth.
Semington moved up the table with another win, this time a 4-1 success at Bell By The Green.
Rich Allum, with two first-half goals, alongside efforts from Ed McCormack and Marc Scammell saw Semington home as Ashley Lock’s penalty gave Bell their consolation.
A week after a stunning 6-2 success at FC Lacock, Box Rovers hosted the same opponents, and in a remarkable turnaround, it was Lacock who captured the points with a 7-2 victory.
Ben Wickens and Dan King’s goals for Box were just consolations as both Josh Hard and Josh Bright netted hat tricks for Lacock, with Corey Williams adding the other.
DIVISION ONE
BROMHAM extended their lead at the top after a thumping 10-1 victory saw off second-placed Westbury Railway, who actually led through Jamie Hancock’s goal.
Caleb Englefield drew the hosts level and goals from Ed Summers and Charlie Street gave them a 3-1 interval lead. Luke Child made it 4-1 before Ryan Bole got four goals in 10 minutes. Summers then got two more to complete his hat-trick and wrap up the villagers’ tally.
Brunel FC and Faded FC shared a 4-4 draw, with all the goals coming after half-time.
Josh Madle’s double put Brunel in front but they then lost Adam Gerrard to a red card. Ollie Cooper got Faded back in the contest and Ryan Greenland restored parity with a free-kick.
Rich Bolter regained the lead for Brunel, only for Faded to level again through Radu Pandelicua. Brunel got their noses back in front courtesy of a second from Bolter but Faded earned a point thanks to a superb effort from Nassem Abourachid.
Calne United and The Foresters Arms met for a second time in a month, with this latest clash ending in a 4-4 draw.
Calne led 1-0 at the break through Matt Fenn but Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock’s double put Foresters 2-1 up. Fenn then netted twice to complete his hat-trick only for a third from Rowles-Hitchcock to level matters once again. A fourth from Fenn put Calne 4-3 ahead only for Ashley Barnett to grab a last-minute equaliser.
FC Libby fell to a 3-1 loss at home to New Inn Wacke.
Libby trailed 1-0 at the break as Mkumbi Sokoni effort went in off Dean Moore, who was sent off in the second half to join team-mate Dan Kirk in seeing red. Sean Horobin made it 2-0 before Dan Moore halved the deficit, only for Harry Brennard to seal the points.
Sutton Benger may have had the better of the second half at home to Fox & Hounds (Warminster), but goals from Jason Cole and Ben Butterfield were unable to save them from a 6-2 defeat.
Myles Woodward (2), Jayson Stokes, Justin Preece and Taylor Kitley scored for Fox & Hounds in the first half before Sam McEntee bagged number six in the second.
DIVISION TWO
WITH pace-setters Lion & Fiddle without a fixture, Worton & Cheverell reclaimed pole position courtesy of a 4-1 triumph at Biddestone.
Biddestone had two appeals for penalties turned down before conceding a soft goal to Jamie Bayes but Shaun Paradise got them level with a free-kick.
The hosts fell behind when Ali Bradley scored from the spot and Ash Huntley’s 25-yard effort made it 3-1 before Ben Tylee wrapped up Worton’s sixth straight win.
Sporting Box scored three goals in each half at Gloucester Conservative to claim a 6-0 success.
Adam Greeves scored a first-half treble and Morgan Summerfield’s brace and a Mike Pattermore strike wrapped things up in the second period.
Old Road FC were beaten 3-2 by visiting Audley FC.
George Bettles’ two outstanding finishes and a Connor Laidlaw strike won the points for Audley after a Lewis Hurley double for Old Road.
Wednesday Warriors and White Hart met both looking to chalk up their first points of the campaign, and it was the latter who did so with a 7-2 win.
Dan Gregory and Mark Smollens gave White Hart a 2-0 interval lead, and although Bradley Edwards scored twice for Warriors, Aaron Tyler’s hat-trick along with another Gregory effort and a Ben Skevington strike sealed the win for the visitors.
