JOINT manager Ben Redford says he was happy with his Calne Town side after they recorded a 2-0 win over Sherborne Town on Saturday.
The result saw the Lilywhites remain in the upper half of the Toolstation League Division One table.
Tom Boakes was the first player to score for the hosts, before Stuart Windsor added a second and put the game to bed.
Redford takes charge of the side along with Clive McQaid, but after introducing new assistant manager Aaron Hopkins to the group, the co-boss says the influence he has delivered has been second to none.
“He (Hopkins) came along to help out a little bit at the end of last season, and me and Clive both saw the impact he was having on the players,” he said.
“So after that we decided to keep him around and he has been brought in officially as an assistant since.
“Me and Clive still love it after taking over last year and our aims for the season are just to stay in the right area of the table.”
Next up, Calne have a long trip to Bishops Lydeard and over the next month, the Lilywhites’ boss says he has set his sights on three victories.
“We have a big trip to Bishops Lydeard at the weekend and they’re a bit of a strange team,” he added.
“One week they put in a really good performance and then they get whacked the week after, so they’re a bit like we were last season.
“Looking at the fixtures for the rest of the month and the teams we are playing, I don’t see why we can’t get nine points from those games.”
Elsewhere, at the weekend, promotion candidates Corsham Town secured a one-goal win against second-placed Chard Town.
Josh Bright struck in the 21st minute before Chard struggled to find an opening throughout the remainder of the game – promoting Corsham to fourth in the division.
Devizes Town meanwhile are now level with Corsham on 15 points, though have a game in hand, after they suffered a crushing 5-1 loss at Welton Rovers.
Three second-half goals proved enough for Welton, who remain top of the division after picking up five wins from their opening eight games.
Jamie Wallen was on target for Devizes Town.
Chippenham Park’s below-par form continued meanwhile as they slipped up 2-1 at home to fellow strugglers Bristol Telephones.
