MALMESBURY karter Louis Harvey was denied victory in round eight of the Shenington club championships by a thousandth of a second despite being awarded the win by the live timing system
Harvey was awarded second place in the first heat after a high-speed crash took out several drivers and finished third after starting ninth in the second race.
Heat three saw a repeat of Harvey’s recent Superone recover drive at Shenington. Starting form 23rd on the grid he made up an astounding 18 places and set the fastest Junior TKM lap of the weekend crossing the line fifth.
Front row for the final Harvey and a rival pulled clear and crossed the line for a photo finish.
The Wiltshire youngsters was awarded the win by the live timing, but a second opinion on the video evidence saw him pushed into second spot.
Harvey will be racing in the British Superone Junior TKM round five at Rissington Kart club next weekend.
